2025
I am happy to share that my first first-author journal article, Pupillary responses to masked and gaze-averted faces, has been published in Frontiers in Psychology.
I presented our work Humans versus machines: Distinguishing Korean, Chinese, and Japanese faces via internal and external features at the Vision Sciences Society (VSS) 2025.
I presented our study on the importance of external facial features in fine-grained ethnicity categorization at the Korean Cognitive and Biological Psychology Society Conference 2025. Surprisingly, entirely in Korean.
I obtained TOPIK Level 6, the highest level of Korean language proficiency.
I graduated with a Master of Science degree in Brain and Cognitive Engineering from Korea University.
2024
I continued my graduate research at Korea University, focusing on face perception, social cognition, and human–machine comparisons in visual processing.
2023
I completed the Korean Language Program in South Korea, funded by the Korean government through the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS). I graduated with TOPIK Level 5, strengthening my academic and everyday Korean skills during my studies.
2022
I am excited to announce that I have been accepted as a Global Korean Scholarship (GKS) awardee to complete my Master’s degree in South Korea. I will continue my studies at Korea University, Brain and Cognitive Engineering Department.
It was a pleasure to attend Yeditepe University’s Social Sciences Colloquium/Seminar lesson to talk about my research on “Effects of Perceived Gaze Direction and Face Mask on Emotion Recognition” and share my insights on the social and psychological dimensions of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Our project called “Effects of Perceived Gaze Direction and Face Mask on Emotion Recognition” has been published in the newspaper to inform the public about issues around face masks effect on everyday life!

Our research on Gender gap in Turkish Debate Programs with Dr. Barış Gencer Baykan and İrem Dilara Kenan, has been published in the newspaper!
